::sigh:: My Net11 journey ends

The end of our Net11 journey is upon us:( Tonight I will be submitting my humble little blog.

Looking back from where I started to where I am now is just amazing. The emotions, the late nights, self doubt, all memories of an experience that has left me proud.

I had no idea what to expect with online learning, and in the beginning I did feel alone. Not through lack of student/Tutor support, but through my own insecurities. I honestly had doubts on whether I would be able to keep up with the pace.

The discussion board was frantic, the course launched full steam. There was such a wealth of knowledge amongst the group, quickly overwhelming me with emotions of what could I offer, did I have the makings of an Advanced Internet User?

After completing the first couple of module tasks, and reading posts from fellow students I soon realised I wasn't alone, we were all new to this. I began to settle and drew on any insecurities from then on as growth. This was when I began to see the unit in a whole new light, I could do this, and I was going to enjoy it!

Very quickly Net11 confirmed that there is soooo much that I don't know as an Internet User. I just took it for granted really, my everyday interactions don't come close to what I need to know. Even now, I have grown, but this is only the first step of many to come.

A consistent routine was the key to reaching the end calmly and confidently. I new very quickly in the beginning that I had to structure a study calender and work to goals that fit in with work and family. At the beginning of the week I devoted time to the discussion board, if not posting, at least reading. Mid week was all about the modules, reading and completing tasks. The end of the week I would go over the discussion board again. My routine gave me that consistent direction, and I was on my way in a more positive light.

The fearsome discussion board became a friend. It was us, the students, that would evolve as a power of information and support. There was never any need to feel alone and insecure, an answer was always a post away, and thanks to Cynthia and my student friends, the questions and answers soon became an understanding.

I loved how our Blogs mapped our journeys. It didn't occur to me, until I received my first comment how exposed my posts would be. My Blog List was potentially my audience, and the comments became invaluable. Posts, comments, questions, chat sessions, we were building a network of communication.

The concepts assignment, well what can I say. It had me so worked up inside for the best half of the unit, I look back now and wonder what all my internal fuss was about. That's just it really, the curriculum prepares us for what is ahead. Looking too far ahead and worrying about it just messes with your focus. I learnt that, on a few occasions throughout the unit, and will definitely go into my next unit with a different perception. I don't need to know the answers before time, that is why I am studying. Stay focused, stay organised and stay on track:)

My journey from here begins with Ned11 in SP3. (I am grateful for our HTML task). I am looking forward to this unit, I just have to remember to stay calm and focused. From there, still keeping with one unit at a time for now, I will move on to REA11 in SP4, (planning and writing analytical essays, hmmmm) Once again, calm and focused:)

So ending this journey I would like to thank Cynthia for all her support and guidance throughout the unit, behind every good teacher is a good student. I am sure we must be the best Net11 students she has taught:)

I also wish the best to all my student friends. It is quite sad, the thought of the discussion board and our blogs coming to an end:(

Your support has helped me to the end more than you can imagine, I know each unit will bring new friends but you guys are special. You are the start of the rest of my life, I will always remember this unit, how I felt at the beginning and how I feel right now.
